About the Coalition

The global, multisectoral Coalition for Access to NCD Medicines & Products was launched in 2017.  This Coalition of government agencies, private-sector entities, nongovernmental organizations, philanthropic foundations, and academic institutions is dedicated to increasing access to medicines and health products for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) to reduce the impact of diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

NCD Medicines & Products Forecasting Program

The Coalition developed an NCD Forecasting Initiative for Essential Medicines and Products in partnership with the ministries of health in Kenya and Uganda and several local and global experts in forecasting. This program includes a forecasting tool, workshop materials, and user guides. It was initiated in Kenya and Uganda with plans to scale to other countries.

Advocacy Responses to the Draft Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage

At the 2023 UN General Assembly in September, there will be a High-level Meeting (HLM) and a Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The Coalition is advocating that several points around non-communicable diseases (NCDs) be included in this meeting and declaration. Learn more about the Coalition’s asks and recommendations here.

Diabetes Supplies: Are they there when needed?

A global review of the availability and affordability of the 22 essential medicines and technologies for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia in low-resource settings.
